Benefits of Child Care in Children’s Development
Unsure if your child is ready for child care?
Studies have shown that children can greatly benefit from a quality child care setting. (source)
Among these benefits include:
- cognitive: builds foundational skills for math, reading, and more
- social: helps children learn how to build positive, empathetic relationships with others
- emotional: teaches children to adapt to new environments and develop confidence/independence
Even babies can benefit from a child care setting early on. Newer research indicates that when placed in a group of other children their age, babies will interact, engage, and comfort one another. (source) Babies show competence and comfortability in group settings as early as 8 months. When searching for quality child care, research suggests finding a provider who is knowledgeable in child development and facilitates a structure where children in the same age group can interact with one another.
